Walk the Kings Walk at El Chorro

I have written about the stunning El Chorro area a few times, and the Kings Walk (Camino del Ray) is one of the highlights of the area. Finally an operator who provides the full on Kings Walk experience to the 'man in the street' has come forward and added their details to YouGoDo - at last some one to take you for a nice afternoon walk on the Kings Walk at El Chorro, near Alora in Andalusia.

To get a feel for why this walk is also known as the World's Scariest Walk take a look at this great high def video of some guy, with wheels of steel, doing the Kings Walk (Camino del Rey) at El Chorro.

Locally the walk is known at El Camino del Rey, and as you can see from the video this is one scary walk. It is in such a state of disrepair that it is now accessible only to those with climbing gear.

Barbary Rock Adventures offer this experience as a trip form their base in Gibraltar, but I am sure they would offer the trip from other locations along the coast, or maybe meet you there.

El Chorro is a stunning location, a favourite day trip of mine, and the Kings Walk experience looks great.

And good news for those mortals who would like the experience but are a little timid of the climbing bit, the local tourist boards are looking into restoring the walk, to once again make it accessible to all.

Roll on the opening.
