Burj Khalifa Observation Deck

Today is the day the Burj Dubai, the newly crowned World's Tallest Building opens its doors to the public. In a stunning firework rich ceremony the newly renamed Burj Khalifa (renamed in honour of the current President of the UAE and ruler of Abu Dhabi, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed al Nahyan)was officially opened by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum on behalf of the owners Emaar.

Standing at 828m the Burj Khalifa is comfortably higher than the previous record holders - the Taipei 101 is 'only' 509m (1671 feet) and the previous champion the
Petronas Twin Towers in Kuala Lumpar is a 'lowly' 452m (1483 feet) in comparison.

So for those with a head for heights there is a new visitor target -
the Burj Khalifa Observation Deck (previously called the Burj Dubai) is located on the 124th floor of the tower's 150 floors/stories.

Take a look at a selection of other
Observation Decks from stunning buildings around the World on YouGoDo, including the The Stratosphere Rooftop Theme Park in Las Vegas, the Ledge in Chicago, the Space Needle in Seattle, the Top of the Rock in New York and the Skydeck in Melbourne to name but a few!

I have been lucky enough to take drinks in both
Vu's Bar on the 51st floor of in the Emirates Towers in Dubai, and the Vista Bar at the top of the Burj al Arab hotel in Dubai, and both of these offer commanding and spectaular views over the city of Dubai so the new viewing platform is going to be pretty spectacular.

Yet another activity to add to the many great
things to do in Dubai.

My bags are ready for when I get the invite!
